It seemed appropriate to have a quote from Superman.
Our superheroes don’t wear capes but are the people that work, live, and protect us in the communities we call home. They put their lives on the line, rise above and beyond in a time of need.
They give their time to a cause to make our lives better or are simply good people who are there when needed. Some do it and don’t even fully appreciate the positive impact they are having on a life. Our collection of "Local Hero" projects focuses on these people.
This project celebrates our local or big city firefighters. Firefighters are one of the cornerstones of the communities we all live in. In so many ways they are here to help and make our lives safer: teaching, fundraising, contributing, being role models, and keeping us safe. Every city and town has a fire station filled with men and women, paid or volunteer, that is willing to step up when called upon and be there when we least expect it... now that's a local hero!
We have designed a few neat features into this mini-project to make it even easier to use and re-use.
